Erbes Road
Located in Thousand Oaks, this affordable housing development brings a modern, human-scaled residential presence to a growing neighborhood. The building is designed with simple, durable materials and a warm color palette, giving it a contemporary identity while remaining welcoming and approachable for families and individuals.
Design + Massing
The massing is composed of clean stucco volumes paired with panels in a muted terracotta tone. These elements create a subtle rhythm along the façade and break down the scale of the three-story building. Upper-level balconies provide outdoor space for residents and add depth and shadow to the elevation. Generous windows bring natural light into each unit and maintain a sense of openness throughout the development.
Ground-Level Activation
The ground floor includes communal program elements and covered outdoor areas that enhance the resident experience. A clearly framed main entry welcomes residents home, and the surrounding landscape softens the street edge with new trees and plantings. Wide walkways and thoughtfully scaled exterior lighting improve safety and visibility.
Livability + Community
Inside, the units are planned with efficient layouts and a focus on daylight, durability, and comfort. Shared outdoor areas, including balconies and ground-level gathering space, create opportunities for connection among residents. The project serves as an example of how thoughtful design can elevate affordable housing through clarity, proportion, and material warmth.
This Thousand Oaks development reflects Bittoni Architects’ commitment to creating dignified, accessible, and enduring housing that supports community and enhances the everyday lives of residents.
