Bittoni Architects is a Los Angeles-based architecture practice working across scales, from houses and housing to mixed-use buildings and larger urban projects.
Our work begins with the specifics of each project: its site, program, constraints and opportunities. We are interested in architecture that is clear in its ideas, precise in its execution, and particular to its place.
The studio works closely with private clients, developers and institutions from early feasibility and entitlement through design and construction. That range allows us to bring the intimacy and attention of residential practice to larger projects, and the rigor of urban work back to the scale of the house.
We listen before we draw.
How a room becomes a gathering place. Where light enters. How a building meets the street, the hillside, and the people who use it.
These questions give a project direction. We work with clients to understand how they want to live or work, then test those needs against the site and budget.
From the first conversation through construction.
Code, budget and constructibility enter the design process early. We study them alongside the plan, so decisions about space and material can be tested against what can be built.
Using BIM and VR, we examine space, light and materials with clients. We carry that discussion through approvals, documentation and construction.
A house and a mixed-use building ask different questions about privacy, shared space and the street. Working at both scales keeps those relationships in view.
Founded in Los Angeles, the studio’s work has expanded to Charleston and the Southeast, extending the practice into a different architectural and urban context while maintaining the same close engagement with site, program and construction.

Mark Bittoni
Mark leads the studio with twenty years of experience in Los Angeles residential and urban design. He founded Bittoni Architects in 2005.
Jonathan Burton
Jonathan directs operations and project delivery, keeping design ambition and construction reality in sync.
