Sunset Park

The Sunset Park Residence is a Los Angeles modern single-family home located in Santa Monica. The project remodels a late-1960s tract home and transforms it into a bright, minimal, and open living environment. The design keeps the exterior modest while creating a spacious interior centered on natural light. Interior walls were removed to form a connected living, dining, and kitchen area. A vaulted ceiling with skylights brings sunlight into the center of the home.

A small addition at the back of the house creates a new master bedroom. Vertical-grain cedar siding identifies this volume and frames the backyard deck.The garage was relocated toward the alley. This change opens space along the side yard for a family vegetable garden and improves circulation around the property.

The Sunset Park Residence shows how a modest structure can become a modern and livable Los Angeles single-family home through thoughtful design.
